| | Description | This course provides individuals, ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism; basic supervision and care of children (including diapering, feeding & handling); safety and safe play.
The first day of Bootcamp includes babysitter training including professionalism, safety hazard prevention, decision-making skills, and routine child-care skills. Guest speakers may also be present on the first day.
On the second day of the bootcamp, infant/child CPR and first aid are taught to the students. Lunch and snacks will be provided on both days of the course.
Students receive a detailed Babysitter's Handbook, backpack-style first aid kit, American Red Cross T-shirt, ten business cards, and a sample resume. |
| | Prerequisites | Must be age 11-15yrs. |
| | Attendee Notes | Students will not be allowed to leave building during lunch or breaks.
Students must be picked up promptly at the class end time, although patience is appreciated if class runs over scheduled time. |

Infant/Child CPR - Valid 1 year
Participants must be 11 years of age by the last scheduled date of the course and must successfully complete all required skills outlined in the course. |
